Mike and Dave have been working together to stand up the first joined Pitch Night on Tuesday, 18 August. It will be a slightly different format and accommodate remote participants much better. James from Mindhive and Arash from Kara gave a great update each on Tuesday. It is always interesting to see the reactions of new angels who where not around for the earlier rounds. Mindhive has only just raised $5M last year, but Kara is in talks with potential US leads for a round later this year. 
AuraScope is first off the rank with the pitch video from Tuesday. Derrek and Mish reckon that AI Search will open a new battle ground between Online Travel Agents and hotel. With AuraScope they are siding with the hotels. Here comes Misha's pitch, and you can also check out Derrek's podcast.

FKA passed on SafeStack before it went on to raise NZ$2.3 million pre-seed round in October 2021, led by Jelix Ventures. SafeStack has now been acquired by NINJIO which raised a US$5.5 Series A in 2021 according to Pitchbook, with annuals sales of US$15m according to zoominfo. Well done Laura Bell and team! □

A review of 37 studies examining the impact of LLMs on software development found that while AI accelerates basic coding tasks, this comes at the cost of quality, and increases the time senior developers must spend reviewing and correcting faulty code.

In an Upwork survey of 2,500 executives, salaried employees and freelancers, 77 percent of respondents said AI had increased their workload and reduced their productivity.

A 2025 meta-analysis of 371 studies on AI’s impact on labor market outcomes, principally, employment and productivity, found that the mean effect was “close to zero and statistically insignificant.” About AI not by AI. READ MORE

Steph is not so much spending from a money cannon as she is reeling in the commitments for her  Bonnet round. Looking for $500-750k, she has $600k, and the round will close soon.
Nicole, the purveyor of the metaphorical glass of wine for mums, has this speed to beat for her follow-on round when it comes! □
David and Naftali are two FKA Deal Champions from Israel locked in a battle for fundraising supremacy. For now, David is winning with Bonnet. But let's not underestimate Naftali and AuraScope.
Slam! There is $100k from FKA investors. RapiDose is preventing drug dosing errors, which saves children's lives. This round is in overfunding and closing on Sunday.  
Mark is caught up in self-flagellation in his personal fundraising battle. We say: $100k for RapiDose and $200k for TheiaNova is a win-win! TheiaNova remains open as it is attracting investors from Australia and Canada.
