Melodics is raising $US$4M on US$20M pre-money.
Lawrence says, I really like the approach that Melodics is taking to disrupt how people learn to play musical instruments. Apart from playing music myself, I'm also on exec committee of The MIDI Association which is all about digitising music. For that reason I connected with Sam in 2018 and we have been in regular contact since then. I think Melodics has an edge and a great opportunity to succeed internationally, not least because Sam has already proven strong execution with his earlier success, Serato.
Working with Chris Jagger, Hattaf Ansari and the folks from Clockwork that I've used many times in the US, we have assessed the proposition for this round and believe that Melodics is well placed to build a significant position in electronic music tutoring. There are risks and challenges ahead but Sam and his team have demonstrated that they are resourceful and can execute.
