2014 Vintage

FKA was formed in 2014. Our wine of that year is already great drinking. Our portfolio companies will take a little longer until exit but they are maturing well. We started with a dirty dozen of angels and now we have over 50.

13 is a lucky number, is the current count of our portfolio companies. Unlike other angel groups in NZ, we don't charge investment fees. We want 100% of the investment funds to go to startups.

Our FREE advice sessions aka ADI.Clinic for founders started in Auckland. Now we run sessions also in Whangarei, Hamilton, Wellington, and Wanaka. FKA's no-nonsense style resonates with our now four sponsors. KPMG Enterprise, Potentia, Lowndes Jordan and Delta Insurance share our passion for Kiwi startups and help defray our OPEX.

Back in 2012 a Forbes article opened with what sounds like an urban myth "Eugene Kaspersky insisted that Apple needed to open up the iOS architecture [...] so that anti-virus programs could be developed. His argument, and I think and thought it a good one, is that the OS hasn't been attacked very much simply because it is new as a mass market phenomenon. There are better pickings to be had by going after the much larger Windows user base."

First a VUCA word, and now the VOOZA company.

FKAngel Rudi Bublitz has looked more closely at VOOZA and is keen to bring this startup to pitch night in order to enlist other FKAngels to help with collective diligence.

First though this pitch video has to get support from a simple majority of angels in the limited partnership to proceed. But will it?
